I spend my time translating messy real-world problems into something a query, a model, or a dashboard can actually answer.

This site is where that translation happens in public. Some posts are full breakdowns — a real dataset, a real business question, SQL and Python work shown plainly, a dashboard you can actually click through. Others are shorter: a chart that surprised me, a question I haven't fully answered yet, a pattern I noticed in an industry I don't normally write about.

The throughline is a simple instinct: find the number that's actually load-bearing, and ignore the ones that just look busy. It doesn't matter if that's a mortgage denial rate, a transit arrival estimate, a hospital wait time, or something I haven't written about yet — the question is always the same. What does the data actually say, and what does it mean?
